   Science Implementation Strategy | Collaborations

Generations will take a proactive approach to achieving its goals by incorporating state-of-the art science and technology, making use of all available platforms, and partnering with other organizations. The following is an overview of this approach.

life adapts to space

  • Begin with cells and simple systems correlating gene response with metabolic, structural, and genetic changes over multiple generations
  • Conduct research in space aboard Space Shuttle, International Space Station, in deep space, on planetary probes, and Space Biology Discovery missions
  • Conduct outreach to increase university and industry involvement in Generations-focused research via both competitive and targeted partnership solicitations
  • Encourage bio-info-nano synergies with fusion centers nationwide that can expand the space biology research infrastructure
  • Amplify science yield through bioinformatics, biolibraries, upgraded relational databases, computational biology, scientific visualization
  • Promote technology transfer via commercialization, Space Act agreements, and public/private consortia developments.
